know sweat hyperhidrosis awareness month on sweaty skin

Why am I sweating? It’s Hyperhidrosis Awareness Month!

November is Hyperhidrosis Awareness Month! At our core, Wicked Sheets was founded by a woman who sweats who wanted to create a product line for other people who sweat. We’ve spent the last 11 years growing into a company with bedding for newborns to adults, from your sheets to your mattress.

And we’re continuously working to develop more!

Though some wicked sleepers don’t have hyperhidrosis, all wicked sleepers want to sleep cool and dry, all night long. Sleep disturbances lead to increased irritability, emotional instability, poor cell rehabilitation, and increased weight gain. More than 365 million people live with hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating (our founder included!).

We’ve been supporters of the International Hyperhidrosis Society (IHhS) for years and are proud to work with them to raise awareness about excessive sweating. We are also happy to sponsor their “Night Sweats” web page and offer their visitors more specific information on why they might be experiencing increased sweating at night.

So why am I sweating?

When asked the question, we’re here to tell you — the causes are endless, but discernible. Many times, people don’t realize sweat is an issue until cooler temperatures arrive. When one becomes unable to use outside temperatures to explain the sweat, they dig deeper. Sweating can be caused by a number of factors:

  1. Medicines or medical conditions
  2. Nutrition
  3. Pregnancy
  4. Smoking
  5. Anxiety
  6. Hyperhidrosis

Even if nothing above looks like it could be the cause — don’t fret! Talk to your doctor or a medical professional — there is almost always an explanation for the sweat and you don’t have to suffer anymore. Wicked Sheets is here to help and we want you to know…you’re not alone.
