FAQ

Where does moisture wicked away by Wicked Sheets go?

Like athletic wear, Wicked Sheets pull moisture from the body. The moisture is then absorbed into the fabric as it moves out to the dry surface areas of the bed. This wicked-cool technology keeps both you and your mattress & comforter

What’s the thread count of Wicked Sheets?

Thread count is out! Most people think the higher the thread count, the better the sheet. Not the case with Wicked Sheets. Our products are engineered using specialty fabric knitted from one continuous loop of thread, so it doesn’t have a thread count. However, their smooth finish and silky feel is comparable to the hand of 600-700 thread count sheet. As a bonus, Wicked Sheets are wrinkle-resistant. Wicked cool, huh?

What type of comforter or cover is recommended?

The best complement to the advanced performance of Wicked Sheets is a polyester or poly-nylon blend comforter or cover. We advise avoiding anything made of wool, down (feathers), fleece, and foam. Thin quilts, coverlets, or Velux covers are great because they are light-weight and allow the porous fabric of Wicked Sheets to breathe.

Are Wicked Sheets hypoallergenic?

Wicked Sheets bedding has been independently tested and certified free of harmful substances (chemicals, dyes, and formaldehyde) by the international OEKO-TEX® Association for Research and Testing in the Field of Textile Ecology. Our Moisture-Wicking products have been tested and certified as
Asthma & Allergy Friendly® by the AAFA. We were the world's first performance knit to earn this prestigious recognition.

What is the antimicrobial component in the wicking fabric and what does it do?

Wicked Sheets bedding is made with trace elements of copper and antimony, which are approved as safe antimicrobial components that inhibit the growth of microbes and bacteria produced naturally by skin. The antimicrobial features that Wicked Sheets products offer reduce odors and keep your bedding smelling fresh.

How often do I have to wash my Wicked Sheets? Are there any special washing instructions?

We recommend following the FDA’s recommendation to wash bedding once a week. If you miss a wash, you can rest easy knowing that in testing for Asthma & Allergy Friendly® and hypoallergenic certifications, Wicked Sheets bedding was found to effectively eradicate accumulated allergens by washing every four weeks.

We recommend washing in cool water and drying on a low heat setting without fabric softeners, which can clog fabric pores and decrease moisture-wicking functionality over time. Wicked Sheets are wrinkle free, so they maintain a smooth and fresh appearance without ironing. Though we recommend using cooler temperatures due to the variability of different machines, the efficacy of Wicked Sheets has been tested at exposure to temperatures as high as 900 degrees.

Where are Wicked Sheets made?

Here, there, and everywhere. And we mean that quite literally.

What once started in Alli's one-bedroom apartment where she drove fabric to 3 local seamstresses 3 days a week to have products made, is now being produced wherever we can find talented, scaleable sewing teams. After years of searching and moving U-hauls full of fabric from manufacturer to manufacturer, we now have 3 stable Cut & Sew operations. One is in our very own warehouse and fulfillment center in Louisville, Kentucky, one is in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Alli just flew over to Shanghai in 2019 to open a shop there. Best part...each manufacturer is woman-owned!

All Wicked Sheets products are handcrafted, handfolded, and hand packaged by members of the Wicked Sheets team. We take such pride in our workmanship and the team "behind the seams" and that's why we've always offered a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee.

Help us spread the wicked word about Cut & Sew in America - if you or someone you know is interested in joining our sewing team, please email us at info@wickedsheets.com.

What is your fabric waste policy?

The Wicked Sheets Zero Waste Policy is a set of principles focused on waste prevention that encourages the redesign of resource life cycles so that all fabric and scraps are used in. The goal is for no trash to be sent to landfills, incinerators, or the ocean. Previously, our goal waste usage was 5-15%. In a zero-waste system, material will be used to the optimum level of consumption.
