Health, fitness and night sweats

Health, fitness and night sweats

Fitness and sweating go hand-in-hand. You work out, you sweat. Fitness and night sweats, too, are related - though they occur more frequently when you don't work out enough! Sounds backwards, doesn't it?! We've covered health and night sweats. CEO Alli's Dad even talked the importance of health, fitness and cycling. The more active you are -- the more you sweat -- the better your body performs. You fall asleep more quickly and stay asleep longer.

This brings us to the end of September -- and to National Family Health and Fitness Day and National Women's Health Day. The last weekend in September celebrates the importance of regular exercise. National Women’s Health & Fitness Day is a nation-wide effort to focus attention on the importance of regular exercise and healthy living for women. Similarly, family health day celebrates families working together to eat healthily, workout regularly and promote overall wellness.

National Family Health and Fitness Day has been promoting families joining together to sweat it out for more than 20 years.

Celebrate National Women's Health Day in many ways -- and celebrate all year, no matter who you are! Health.com has many great suggestions for ways for women to to stay active.

  • Try a new sport!
  • Take a nap!
  • Stay hydrated!

No matter how you celebrate and whether you do so alone, with friends or with family, do so in the spirt of fitness. Fitness and night sweats are much less frequent when you sweat it out at the gym. Studies show that healthier eating and living, coupled with exercise, often lead to better, more restful sleep.

As always, sleep well, sleep wicked.
